How to cancel Spotify

Checked Nov 6, 2026 against Spotify's help page.

The steps
  1. Account
  2. Manage your plan
  3. Cancel subscription

Premium stays until your next billing date, then your account moves to the free plan. Playlists and saved music stay.

Who bills you?

A partner bills you

No Cancel option means a partner, such as a mobile or internet provider, bills you. In Manage your plan, open Payment for their contact link.

Google Play

Paid through Google Play? Google manages billing (Spotify's page). On play.google.com, open your subscriptions, then Manage, Cancel subscription, pick a reason and choose Continue (Google's steps). Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel.

GCash

Cancel Spotify first. Then in the GCash app: Profile > Subscription Center > the merchant > Unlink, then Unlink again. Unlinking only stops GCash charges (GCash).

Free trial

Cancelling a zero-priced free trial switches you to the free plan at once. It can't be reactivated. More on trials.

Family and Duo plans

The plan manager cancels the plan. A member following these steps only leaves the plan. Managed accounts move to free.
