How to cancel a free trial
Checked Nov 6, 2026 against Apple's, Google Play's, GCash's, Spotify's and Canva's help pages.
- Find who bills the trial. Search your email for "receipt from Apple". No Apple receipt means another company bills you.
- Cancel there: Apple, Google Play (below) or the service.
- Do it at least 24 hours before an Apple trial ends.
Who bills you?
Apple
Steps are in the Apple guide.
Google Play
On play.google.com, open your subscriptions, then Manage, Cancel subscription, pick a reason and choose Continue (Google's steps). Access stays for the time already paid. Past payments generally aren't refunded.
GCash
In the GCash app, go to Profile, Subscription Center, choose the merchant, then Unlink and Unlink again. GCash says unlinking only stops future GCash charges and doesn't cancel the account, so cancel the trial in the service or store first.
Trial rules by service
Spotify: cancelling ends the trial at once, and it can't be reactivated.
Canva: a trial charge can show a day early (billing runs on UTC).
Questions
Does uninstalling the app cancel a Google Play trial?
No.
Can GCash refund a trial charge?
Refunds come from the merchant, not GCash.
